VoIP-PAL is a technology company that holds approximately 40 issued patents covering Wi-Fi-based mobile communications technology. Its subsidiary, Digifonica, was co-founded in 2003 and spent over two decades developing the technology underlying those patents. VoIP-PAL is currently pursuing four coordinated federal antitrust and class action cases against Apple, Alphabet, Samsung, AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. The company alleges that these defendants have together maintained structures that foreclose lower-cost Wi-Fi calling alternatives, and that consumers have paid the price.
