Republic Wireless and FreedomPop both sold all-Wi-Fi plans for $5 a month, and Cablevision sold Freewheel for $29.95. Today no independent provider offers a Wi-Fi-primary service that works as your ordinary phone line. The complaint alleges AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile each condition the handset functions on buying their cellular service, and that the wholesale host several of those providers relied on disappeared with the 2020 Sprint–T-Mobile merger.
